About Us

Custom Auto Top was born in 1973 in Lynn, Massachusetts. At this time, vinyl roof covers had become popular in the automotive industry. Several new car dealers had these vinyl tops installed
by the aftermarket as opposed to buying them already installed
by the manufacturer. This gave the dealer more flexibility with
their inventory and allowed the customer to personally choose
their colors, styles and roof treatments.

We had many years of success with much gratitude to several new car dealers, among them Seacrest Cadillac, Beacon Chevrolet, Yaz Ford and Daniels LeSaffre Chrysler Plymouth.

Due to the volume of work, we were able to expand into other related areas, such as convertible tops, headliners, carpets, and sunroofs, among other things.

Although we were very busy and reasonably successful, what I really wanted was a slower pace and to be away from the city.
After a brief stop of a few years in Woburn, Massachusetts, I
ended up here in Carroll County, New Hampshire. I couldn't have picked a better place to live and work.

I pretty well work by myself now, which allows me to pay more attention to detail and not have to rush anything out the door to meet any deadlines.

I do believe I have the best job anyone could ask for. There is no commute, I work right here at home surrounded by mountains and lakes with a beautiful pasture across the street.

I try to focus on vinyl tops, convertible tops and headliners now because of the experience I was lucky enough to gain in the early years. However, I will do most anything in the industry that I'm able to.

The work is challenging and satisfying and I plan to continue for many more years.
